We can rapidly survey a large number of dwellings identified previously (e.g. from aerial photographs) as suitable for solar installations, and refine our calculations by measuring roof slope angles, evaluating roof state and density of surrounding obstructions. The evaluation is carried from the curb side using simple surveying instruments and estimation. Suitability of house roofs and walls for solar water heating and/or photovoltaic power generation is assessed using SolarStar Rating system developed by GreenPower Labs Inc.
