Solar Energy Resource Mapping
Interactive Solar Map of Canada

The goal of the project was to present a digital solar energy map showing levels of solar radiation in major Canadian cities in a convenient interactive format. The map build on the Google Earth platform allows visitors to use full features of satellite and hybrid imagery and to combine the convenience of Google maps with the information on solar radiation available from existing weather stations in Canada.
“The Sun for Nova Scotia: Assessing Solar Energy Resources of the Province".
The project presents an approach to the development of effective renewable energy policies in Nova Scotia. Transition to sustainable alternatives is discussed with the focus on the energy from the Sun.
Solar Resource Map of Nova Scotia

A successful implementation of solar resource mapping technology developed by Green Power Labs is the Solar Energy Map for Nova Scotia – a digital map based on the solar radiation resource assessment in the province. Read more
Solar Resource Potential of Atlantic Canada

The project addresses the issues of solar energy resource potential assessment in Atlantic Canada. The natural, technical and socioeconomic levels of solar potential are analyzed. Natural solar resource of Atlantic Canada cities is compared to the Florida and California cities resource. Basic solar power potential of individual households is presented for each of Atlantic Canada provinces. Barriers, policies and strategies for solar power deployment in the region are reviewed.
Comprehensive Solar Energy Map of the province of Ontario

The goal of this project was to find the most suitable location in the province of Ontario for the implementation of solar energy project. In carrying solar energy prospecting we have built a solar resource map of Ontario and defined the most prospective areas for solar power projects implementation. Read more
