Solar Architect
Solar Architecture is the art and science of building intelligent solar energy solutions for existing or planned buildings and communities. Green Power Labs have been working with its industry partners to develop and promote the SOLAR ARCHITECT concept of integrated architectural and advanced energy generation solutions. SOLAR ARCHITECT supports the importance of integrated design processes with architectural, engineering and property planning partners and clients to allow for the full use of solar energy resource available.
One of the major ways of reducing life-cycle costs and environmental footprint of commercial buildings is to change their energy balance. Energy efficiency measures may meet the growth needs and cause considerable reduction of energy consumption. However, in the long term, we have to change the structure of energy supply – from bringing the energy generated elsewhere (in most cases by using fossil fuels) to generating energy on-site using available renewable energy resources. On-site (distributed) energy generation should become an integral part of every building design and/or retrofitting plan.
